converting to Christianity? WTF? It is against the law for a Muslim to convert to Christianity in Afghanistan. The penalty is death. I don't care for any religion in particular but this is ridiculous!

Yes, not all Muslims are this way...that's true. But why are we only hearing from the extremists? Where are all these other "non-extremist" Muslims when crap like this happens? Why don't they step up? THIS IS A FRICKIN' LAW IN AFGHANISTAN!

I'll refrain from adding my own comments, only to say that I'm very glad that this issue has earned your ire, Andy. The situation is not unique, and it's been going on for many hundreds of years. The Salem witch trials can't hold a candle to the oppression happening over there. I have to stop there.
I think one thing we can all agree on is that there's a good reason why church and state should be seperate.
We can all agree on that, right?
I guess there is a distinction between religious politics and a religion in general.
The problem I'm having is to "not" hold this against the religion. Of course this is probably what the fanatics want us to think. Brainwash us against a religion, start a war, end the world as we know it.
It's hard to be tolerant towards people so intolerant. And that goes for the Bible thumpers here in the U.S. too!

I tend to feel too symetrical when I wear matching socks... so I purposefully wear unmatching socks. Granted, I don't usually wear a white sock with a black... but I usually will wear a short black sock with a long black sock, or a grey sock and black sock.

personally i still say the cartoon bullshit was much worse, but these people in all honesty are just insane. they have no hold on what life in the modern world is all about, they're still in the dark ages and think the crusades are still going on, it's a sad world to live in thats for sure
There'll never be peace/democracy/stablility in that area.
And foreign governments are foolish for thinking they can impose something of the sort.
